Technique Tip: Looking for a special element within your paper pack is a great way to start a project. Find a special phrase or a picture that you want to theme your project around and watch the ideas flow! For this project, Lindsey focused on the “Super Dad” phrase found in the Like Father Like Son Paper Kit by Fancy Pants.
作り方
Step 1: Find the Argyle Paper in the Like Father Like Son Paper Kit. Cut the paper into a 12” x 5 ¾” piece. You will make two folds along the length of the paper. The first fold is at 5”, the second at 10”. This will give you a card with a flap to keep it shut. Next, take the Tim Holtz Sanding Grip Block and rough up the edges of the card. Finally, ink the edges of the card with the Faded Jean Distress ink.
Step 2: Within the Like Father Like Son Paper Kit there is a page of design strips. Find and cut out the strip with “Super Dad” on it. The strip should be around 3 ¾” wide. Using the Sanding Grip Block and the Distress Ink, rough and ink the edges of the strip. This strip will make the bellyband that will go around the card. Before folding the strip, take your blade cutter and cut along the top point of the star. Cut another paper strip from the design strip page. It should be about ¼” wide. Slip it under the cut point of the star. Glue the ¼” strip to the “Super Dad” strip. With “Super Dad” in the front, fold the sides so that it raps around the 12” x 5 ¾“ card. Crease the bellyband, slide it off the card, and then glue the strip together where it meets. Your card should then be able to slip in and out of the bellyband with ease while still being a snug fit.
Step 3: Cut a 3 ½” strip of the Mark Richards Metal Stickers. Attach it directly below the brown stripe on the “Super Dad” bellyband. Next, take a 7Gypsies Paper Fastener and attach it to the top left side of the bellyband.
Step 4: From the Like Father Like Son Paper Kit cut out the “Happy Father’s Day” card. Rough and ink the edges of it. Take two medium sized brads and attach them to the top left side of the card. Open your 12” x 5 ¾” card and attach the “Happy Father’s Day” card in the middle section.
Step 5: Close the card and slip on the bellyband.

Technique Tip: To keep your project coordinated, make sure you use the same techniques throughout your project. For this project we are going to use the In Stitch’z needle tool and a fine tip marker to give the edge of our paper a sewn look.
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Choose a paper from the Like Father Like Son Paper kit to use for your background. After you have chosen one, lightly brush both of the Distress Ink colors over the edges of the paper. Next, take your needle tool from the In Stitch’z kit and pierce holes around the edge of the paper. Using a brown or black fine tip marker or pen draw lines connecting the holes. This will give the page the appearance of having a sewn edge.
Step 2: Take the Marble Blue paper from the Lost & Found Paper Stack and tear it in half. Next, tear the edges along the two adjacent sides, leaving the bottom straight. Ink the edges with the Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. Using the In Stitch’z needle tool again, pierce holes along the three torn edges. Use your fine tip marker to draw lines connecting the holes.
Step 3: Choose 3-5 coordinating papers from any of the paper packs. For this project, I used the following: Old News Paper Clipping, Linen Blue Wash, Old World Globe, Stripe, and Toast.
Step 4: Tear all of the edges of the papers you chose in Step 3. Another option is to sand them. To keep this project coordinated, make sure that you use similar techniques on all the papers you use within it. For this project, inking and texturizing the edges helps tie everything together. You can also use the In Stitch’z needle tool and fine tip marker on some of the pages to help keep the look synchronized. To finish this step, strategically stagger, layer, and attach your coordinating papers in the center of the page.
Step 5: The cork letter! Using materials that you do not normally see helps give your scrapbooking projects an extra pop. Using a pre-cut 1 ½” letter “H”, trace the letter onto your piece of corkboard. Carefully cut the “H” out and attach it to your layout. Next, using a black fine tip pen, draw dashes around it.
Step 6: Take your Linen Blue paper and use the Cricut Storybook cartridge to cut out the letters “E”, “R”, and “O” in size 1. With the Cricut Stamped Cartridge, cut out the letters “M” and “Y”, also in size 1. Ink the edges of all of the letters with the Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. Next, from the Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess Paper Pack, find the letters “D”, “A”, and “D” and cut them out. Attach all the letters to your layout. Using your fine black tip pen again, write “is” between “Hero” and “my”.
